What Kaioken Adds to Your Fighter
Dragon Generations kaioken gives every playable race a damage and movement boost starting at level 25. Its health drain makes mastery important before you rely on that power during longer fights. Mastered Dragon Generations kaioken has no standalone bar drain, while stacking it with another transformation still consumes the Transformation Bar.
That distinction shapes the entire technique: unlock it, train each variant, and choose when to combine it with a compatible form. You can eventually reach Kaioken x20 through King Kai, with each stage increasing the same four stats.
Kaioken Variants and Stat Multipliers
Kaioken boosts Agility, Ki Control, Physical Damage, and Ki Damage. It also increases running speed, flight speed, and jump height.
| Variant | Physical Damage | Ki Damage | Agility and Ki Control | Run, Flight, and Jump Multiplier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kaioken | x1.25 | x1.25 | x1.25 | x1.25 |
| Kaioken x3 | x1.5 | x1.5 | x1.5 | x1.5 |
| Kaioken x10 | x1.75 | x1.75 | x1.75 | x1.75 |
| Kaioken x20 | x2 | x2 | x2 | x2 |
Kaioken x20 doubles these listed stats. The “x20” name does not mean twenty times your damage. Basic Kaioken provides a 25% increase, while x20 provides a 100% increase to the supported stats.
Kaioken itself supplies no damage resistance. Keep Health and your defensive options in mind when fighting enemies: stronger attacks and faster movement do not reduce incoming damage.
Understanding Kaioken Drain
Unmastered Kaioken has ongoing resource costs. The higher variants increase health drain, while their listed Ki drain remains the same.
| Variant | HP Drain per Second | Ki Drain per Second | Listed Transformation Bar Drain per Second |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kaioken | 1% | 0.208% | 0.5% |
| Kaioken x3 | 1.16% | 0.208% | 2.85% |
| Kaioken x10 | 1.33% | 0.208% | 3.33% |
| Kaioken x20 | 1.5% | 0.208% | 3.5% |
These are the listed drain rates; mastery changes standalone upkeep. Each mastered regular Kaioken variant can run alone without draining any bar. A stack with another form still drains the Transformation Bar.
Check which variant you have equipped before entering combat. Unlocking a stronger stage introduces another form to train, so an unmastered x20 can cost health even when your earlier Kaioken stages are mastered.
How to Unlock Dragon Generations Kaioken
To unlock Dragon Generations kaioken, reach level 25 and complete King Kai’s Special Quest in Other World. The quest’s objective is Find Bubbles, and the Quest Viewer lists it as Secret Finding*.

Other World has no entry level requirement. You can reach King Kai before level 25, but Kaioken’s acquisition requirement still applies.
| Step | Action | Requirement or Landmark |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Reach level 25 | Kaioken is available to every playable race |
| 2 | Die in another world and select “Go to Other World” | Choose this option instead of respawning |
| 3 | Travel along Snake Way | It connects King Yemma’s office to King Kai’s Planet |
| 4 | Talk to King Kai and accept his Special Quest | His small planet sits at the end of Snake Way |
| 5 | Complete the Find Bubbles objective | Rewards: Kaioken, 2,000 EXP, and 300 Zeni |
Use the Quest Viewer to keep track of the objective. On keyboard, open it with Tab; on a controller, use D-Pad up. Special Quests have purple markers, and completed quests receive a green marker in the viewer.
The Quest Viewer hides your usual health and Ki display while open. Close it before checking your resources or returning to combat.
Returning to Earth Alive
After finishing your visit, talk to King Yemma to return to Earth alive.
Fortuneteller Baba can also send you to Earth, but your character remains dead and keeps the halo. If you join another server while still dead, you return to Other World.
Use King Yemma when you want to revive and restore normal travel behavior. This also avoids an unexpected Other World spawn the next time you join.
Master Kaioken and Unlock x3, x10, and x20
Dragon Generations kaioken progresses through a fixed sequence:
Kaioken → Kaioken x3 → Kaioken x10 → Kaioken x20
Master the current variant, then return to King Kai for the next one:
- Master Kaioken and talk to King Kai to unlock Kaioken x3.
- Master Kaioken x3 and talk to him to unlock Kaioken x10.
- Master Kaioken x10 and talk to him to unlock Kaioken x20.
All four variants list level 25. The later stages depend on mastering the previous variant and speaking with King Kai.
Form Control and Mastered Status
The mastery system distinguishes Controlled forms from Mastered forms. Controlled means reaching four stars of Form Control. Mastered describes a form with at least one DCBAS upgrade raised to its maximum before Limit Breaking.
Keep those labels separate when following King Kai’s unlock requirements.
| Form Control Progress | Transformation Strain Reduction | Mastery Points Spent From Zero Stars |
|---|---|---|
| One star | 25% | 1 |
| Two stars | 50% | 2 |
| Three stars | 75% | 3 |
| Four stars: Controlled | Ordinary strain removed; Kaioken stacking remains an exception | 4 |
Each Mastery Point buys one Form Control tier. Four points control one newly unlocked form, but that cost covers Form Control rather than every part of the mastery system.
You can also gain control manually by maintaining a transformation or landing melee attacks on a living target while transformed. Basic melee strings and melee supers can contribute.
Watch your health while training unmastered Kaioken. Deactivate it before ongoing drain leaves you unable to survive another hit.
Getting Mastery Points
Complete unlocked masters to earn one Mastery Point per completed master. These rewards are finite, and master training also gives you techniques and fighting styles.
Open Menu → Masters, select a mentor, and spar to raise Master Progress. Visit the mentor between fights to learn techniques as they become available.
Raids provide repeatable Mastery Point rewards. Examples include:
- 1 point: Great Ape Vegeta, Dr. Wheelo, Devilman, or Ginyu Force.
- 2 points: Meta-Cooler or Frieza & King Cold.
- 3 points: Super Picco Form or Bio-Broly.
- 4 points: Super Janemba or Kid Buu.
Choose fights you can complete reliably. Keep raid EXP and Zeni rewards separate from Mastery Points: raid EXP and Zeni have a 12-hour reward restriction after completion.
Stacking Kaioken With Other Transformations
Dragon Generations kaioken becomes stackable once controlled. It can accompany compatible regular forms, including a Half-Saiyan’s Unleashed Potential and regular Super Saiyan.
The exclusions are Giant Transformations, Ultimate Form, and Path Transformations.
| Form or State | Regular Kaioken Compatibility | Transformation Bar Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Base form | Usable alone | Mastered Kaioken has no standalone drain |
| Unleashed Potential | Stackable once Kaioken is controlled | The stack drains the bar |
| Regular Super Saiyan | Stackable once Kaioken is controlled | The stack drains the bar |
| Great Ape and other Giant Transformations | Excluded | Kaioken cannot stack |
| Ultimate Form | Excluded | Kaioken cannot stack |
| Path Transformations, including Super Saiyan 4 | Excluded | Kaioken cannot stack |
For Half-Saiyans, Unleashed Potential unlocks at level 100 and costs 5,000 Zeni in the Shop. Great Ape unlocks at level 50, but its Giant Form classification excludes it from regular Kaioken stacking.
Mastering both forms does not remove the stack’s Transformation Bar drain. Monitor that bar while fighting, and use the additional power during openings when your attacks can connect.
If a stack will not activate, check the form’s category and Kaioken’s control level before assuming something is wrong.
How Fusion Changes Drain
Fusion Dance changes transformation upkeep: unmastered transformations and Kaioken stacks no longer drain the Transformation Bar while fused.
The fusion has a separate Fusion Duration bar and lasts roughly 180 seconds, followed by a five-minute cooldown. Watch that timer even when your transformation remains stable.
Fusion Dance unlocks at level 450 through the Metamoran Special Quest on Grand Kai’s Planet in Other World. Both participants need the skill, and both must enter the correct button prompts for a successful fusion.
Potara Fusion also allows available transformations without Transformation Bar drain. It ends on death or when either participant leaves the server. Potara has no direct level requirement. If the receiving player cannot interact with the acceptance prompt, check whether they have Fusion Dance unlocked; learning Fusion Dance requires level 450.
Using Kaioken in Combat
Build your Dragon Generations kaioken setup around the attacks you use. Its Physical Damage and Ki Damage boosts support both melee and ranged skills.
Invest in Physical Damage for basic combat, Rush attacks, and Rush Ultimates. Invest in Ki Damage for Ki blasts, beams, blasts, and their corresponding ultimates.
Support those attacks with resource stats:
- Agility increases stamina and reduces consumption from Rush attacks, boosted flight, and snap-vanishing.
- Ki Control increases maximum Ki and reduces consumption from Ki blasts, Beam skills, and Blast skills.
- Health helps you survive incoming attacks while Kaioken supplies no damage resistance.
Check stat output, rather than only allocated points, when working toward ultimate efficiency. Rush Ultimates use the 300 Agility output threshold; Beam and Blast Ultimates use the 300 Ki Control output threshold. Racial multipliers affect the points needed to reach those outputs.
For Half-Saiyans, skill damage doubles below 25% health. Master Kaioken before relying on it at low health, and leave room to survive enemy attacks. Unmastered Kaioken adds ongoing self-damage precisely when your remaining health is limited.
Before another fight, check your equipped variant, its mastery status, and your other form’s compatibility. During the fight, monitor health for an unmastered variant and the Transformation Bar for a stack.
